AFS COMPETITION – ROAD RESCUE

Delhi Public School, Bathinda feels proud in securing 3rd position at the national level AFS competition themed “Road Rescue,” which required participants to create a video and draft a petition addressing road safety issues. The team, consisting of four students—Mayank Bansal, Divjot Sharma, Gurkirat Singh, and Lakshay Pal—chose to focus on preventing distracted driving, a critical concern highlighted by recent statistics indicating that over 3,000 people lost their lives due to distracted driving in 2022.

The team began by researching the causes of road accidents, discovering that distracted driving was a significant factor. Having gathered practical tips for preventing such driving, the students incorporated innovative ideas and facts and presented the same through a video. To complement the video, the team created a petition on Change.org to maximize their efforts’ reach and serve society.

The competition helped the students gain valuable insights into road safety, distracted driving, and video editing in addition to collaboration and teamwork. Principal Mr. J.K. Saini congratulated the students on their remarkable achievement.
