Community Services (Shiksha Kendra)
Shiksha Kendra, at DPS Bathinda, was started in 2004 with the noble objective of providing quality education to underprivileged children in the neighborhood. The primary aim of DPS Bathinda through this program is to educate and empower children, nurturing them into confident and responsible citizens.,
The Shiksha Kendra offers comprehensive formal education from LKG to X, ensuring that students receive a strong educational foundation, The curriculum at Shiksha Kendra is designed in accordance with CBS guidelines, ensuring a well-rounded education. Furthermore, computer classes are offered from class IV onwards, equipping students with essential digital literacy skills,
The school’s infrastructure goes beyond the mere provision of education. Shiksha Kendra supplies books, stationery, and uniforms to students free of cost, removing financial barriers to education. The students from the mainstream school voluntarily contribute books, stationery, uniforms, and other essentials, fostering social responsibility and instilling moral values in them.
From its humble beginnings with a two-digit number of students, Shiksha Kendra has grown to accommodate approximately 262 students and team of 10 dedicated teachers.
Shiksha Kendra offers a diverse range of academic and co-curricular activities to its students, fostering holistic development. In addition to routine activities, the Kendra organizes various events such as Sports Day, Summer Camps and Trips providing students with opportunities for recreation, creativity and teamwork.
To ensure a seamless learning experience, the teachers at Shiksha Kendra are supported by mentor teachers from the mainstream school, The Kendra also has access to facilities such as Science Lab, Math Lab and Computer Lab which are utilized regularly based on the students’ needs. Furthermore, the Annual Day and prize distribution celebration at Shiksha Kendra is integrated with the main school’s event, fostering a sense of equality and healthy competition among all students.
