Learning and practice of music is not only a great skill, relaxes the mind, and is a  lifelong hobby but the research also points to the fact that engagement with music can lead to an improvement in brain development in students, improves IQ and comprehension abilities.

We at DPS, encourage that every child participates in singing and learns at least one musical instrument. The music room is well equipped with the entire basic instruments like the Harmonium, Tabla, Sitar, Sarod, Congo, Drums, Piano, Keyboard, etc. The music department is managed by highly trained staff to guide students both in vocal and instrumental Indian classical music.  The curriculum is customized for each section of the school starting from Pre-primary to Class 8.

The school choir regularly performs in school the assembly, at important school events, and function. The school holds inter-house singing and music competitions to improve their skills and also participates in inter-school competitions.
