Youth Parliament Competitions like MUN are organized to strengthen the roots of democracy, instill discipline, promote tolerance of differing views, and familiarize students with parliamentary procedures. These competitions aim to foster active citizenship among the youth, engage in intellectual discourse, present arguments, counter opposing viewpoints, and defend their stances. The goal is to hone students’ public speaking skills and teach them to express their thoughts and opinions articulately. These events also serve as platforms for developing critical thinking, research skills, teamwork, and confidence.
