On a vibrant Tuesday, February 13th, 2024, Delhi Public School, Bathinda, buzzed with energy as they hosted their annual Sports Day for the youngest members of their school community – the students of LKG to Grade 3. The event, filled with laughter, cheers, and a spirit of sportsmanship, was graced by the esteemed presence of the Chief Guest, Mr. Mannu Jaura, Director of Bachpan Playway Bathinda.

The day kicked off with a vibrant march past by the young athletes followed by a warm welcome by Principal Mr. J.K. Saini, who presented a green gold memento to the esteemed Chief Guest. In his inspiring speech, Mr. Saini emphasized the importance of sports in fostering physical and mental well-being, teamwork, and leadership qualities.

Following the speech, the Principal, Senior Mistress, Coordinator, and Chief Guest officially inaugurated the event with a symbolic balloon release, marking the beginning of a day filled with exhilarating competitions.

Following the opening ceremony, the field transformed into a vibrant arena of activity. Young athletes, brimming with energy, participated in a range of engaging races, relays, and games. From the adorable rabbit, monkey, Minnie & Mickey races to the thrilling sack races, three-legged races and relays, each event showcased the children’s determination, sportsmanship, and unwavering spirit. The cheers of their classmates and teachers echoed across the field, creating an atmospher.

One of the highlights of the day was the musical chair competition for teachers. This light-hearted event added a touch of humor and friendly rivalry, leaving everyone thoroughly entertained.

Dr. Anu Sandeep Kaur, the coordinator, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks at the conclusion of the event, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to its success – the participants, organizers, staff, and guests.

The young participants, adorned with medals and beaming with pride, carried with them the memories of a day filled with laughter, cheers, and the spirit of sportsmanship.
