Delhi Public School, Bathinda, celebrated a momentous occasion with its Annual Function, “Uday – From Darkness to Light,” for the students of Classes I and II on November 20, 2025. The event was a vibrant display of youthful creativity, confidence, and artistic brilliance.

The school had the honour of welcoming Captain Ishraj Singh, Commanding Officer of the NCC Naval Wing, as the Chief Guest. His encouraging presence and heartfelt appreciation added immense value to the celebration. The event was further graced by the Director, Mrs. Vandana Talwar, and the Executive Director, Mr. Sahil Talwar. Esteemed guests included Mrs. Preetpal Kaur (Principal, Bachpan Playway School, Giddarbaha), Mrs. Neha Goyal (Principal, Bal Gopal Playway School, Bathinda), and Mr. Yadhoo Dutta (Principal, It’s Playtime Play School, Bathinda).

The programme commenced with a warm welcome by Co-ordinator Dr. Anu Sandeep Kaur, followed by the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and sapling presentation, symbolizing knowledge, growth, and new beginnings. The event was seamlessly compared by teachers Mr. Gumeet Singh and Mrs. Sonika Pahuja, supported by confident student anchors.

The young performers enthralled the audience with their expressive and thematic presentations. Major highlights included a captivating depiction of the Navras (nine emotions) and a powerful dance drama showcasing Navdurga, representing the nine divine forms of Matrishakti. The students also delivered an impactful dramatic presentation raising awareness about pollution and environmental conservation, reflecting their social consciousness.

The programme continued with the presentation of the School Annual Report, followed by an insightful address by the Principal, Mr. J. K. Saini. The Chief Guest, Captain Ishraj Singh, delivered an inspiring speech, commending the discipline, confidence, and exceptional performances of the students.

The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Mrs. Sonia Garg, Wing Incharge. The grand finale featured an energetic performance of Bhangra and Gidda, filling the atmosphere with joy and cultural vibrancy and bringing the celebration to a delightful close.
