Two delegations of school students, accompanied by the AFS coordinator Mr. Sachin Gopal Singla, had the privilege of attending a remarkable two-day AFS National Regional Meet of North India, graciously hosted by Pinegrove School in Dharampur (Kasauli) on the 13th and 14th of May 2023. This exceptional gathering witnessed the participation of 41 schools from across the northern region of India.
As part of the meet, the students were tasked with an engaging project involving the creation of an insightful chart on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Among the talented participants, Gurkirat Singh and Apoorva Singh from Grade 9 of DPS Bathinda showcased their exemplary skills in presenting the SDG theme of ‘Gender Equality’ with utmost finesse.
The event encompassed a multitude of enlightening sessions, including thought-provoking topics such as ‘In Matters of Leadership, Leaders Matter’ and ‘Nurturing a Global Mindset for All-Round Success.’ Lastly, a highly interactive brainstorming session was conducted, bringing together principals, educators, and students to deliberate on the future trajectory of AFS. This session explored the organization’s achievements, challenges, and offered valuable suggestions for maximizing student involvement in the region. Notably, the esteemed Principal, Mr. J.K. Saini, wholeheartedly joined the school leaders, contributing to the prestigious and annual meet’s significance.
Overall, this gathering served as an extraordinary platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and personal growth, leaving an indelible impact on all participants.
