ALUMNI MEET – 2022
DPS Bathinda organized the Alumni Meet on 25th December 2022 attended by the old students of the school.
It was a poignant and heartwarming moment for the school as well as the alumni to visit the school after such a long hiatus. Principal Mr. Jatinder Kumar Saini welcomed the alumni and urged the office bearers to start playing an active role in engaging the alumni and build stronger network of DIPSITES. He thanked the newly elected President Mr. Shaurya Arora, an architect by profession, for taking up the responsibility for the next two years.
A gala was organized for the alumni by the students and the ex-students went on a nostalgic trip and shared the anecdotes of their time in school. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by the senior mistress Mrs. Paramjeet Kingra.
CAREER COUNSELING SESSIONS – CLASSES IX-XII
It’s that time of the year when students need to think about the next step of their educational life as the board exams are around the corner. Soon they will need to select the right college for themselves and prepare to get into it. DPS Bhatinda School in collaboration with Mindler organised a webinar on College Course Selection Strategy on 15th Dec 2022 for classes XI and XII. The students were given all the tips and information they would need to choose the right college and course. Selecting the right one becomes very important because this is the stepping stone towards their future.
Develop a mentor at every stage of your life, somebody who will give guidance and advice: it is such a sound advice. Delhi Public School organised a career counseling session for parents and students of classes IX and X on 17th Dec 2022.
These sessions were interactive session for students and parents in collaboration.
ANNUAL FUNCTION (MAIN BRANCH) – LKG/UKG
ANNUAL FUNCTION (CITY BRANCH) – LKG/UKG
Delhi Public School, Bathinda (City Branch) celebrated its Annual Function titled “Bachpan Xpress” with great pomp and show on 10 November 2022. The occasion was graced by the Chief Guest Mr. Shiv Pal Goyal DEO Bathinda ( Elementary Education), Guests of Honour Ms. Bela Gupta, and Ms. Alpana Badyal.
The programme commenced on a devotional note with “lighting of the lamp” by the eminent guests. The Principal Mr. Jatinder Kumar Saini welcomed the Chief Guest, other dignitaries, and the parents present at the function.
The theme of the event was ‘journey of a child in kindergarten” and it aimed at portraying the feelings and emotions of a child during his/her schooling in kindergarten.
The tiny tots with 100% participation mesmerized the audience with breathtaking dances and role plays. The programme concluded on a happy note with a grand finale dance performance by the tiny tots and staff.
The Chief Guest applauded the efforts put in by the teachers, and parents to enable the young children to perform with such great confidence. He acknowledged the efforts of DPS in shaping the personality of students through a greater focus on sports and co-curricular activities. Finally, the Junior School in-charge Mrs. Jaspreet Kaur thanked the entire team for their tireless efforts in making the function a grand success.
CONSORTIUM-2022
Delhi Public School, Bathinda inaugurated the two days Model United Nations Conference-22 in which 155 students from various reputed schools in the region participated. Six committees debated, and deliberated on different agendas:
The chief guest at the opening ceremony was S. Jagroop Singh Gill, MLA, Bathinda (Urban) enthused the delegates through his insightful experience of politics.
The Executive Board comprised of experienced students from professional colleges of the country with wide experience thoroughly engages the delegates in the proceeding of the committees. Adding a lot of fun, excitement, and deliberating discussion on the delicate issues of the agenda.
Two days of deliberation convinced into the passing of the resolution. The best delegates Harpratap Singh Gill, Anantbir, Yashkanwarvir Singh, and Hargun Kaur. Amolika Kalra was adjudged the best journalist and Eknoor Kaur.
The principal appreciated the active participation of the delegates and thanked the principals of participating schools for sending the delegation. Such events improve communication, research, and critical thinking skills, and teach students diplomacy and decision-making skills.

PICNIC
Picnics are very important as they add pleasantness to our lives. One day trip gives us chance to speak our minds, unwind and relax. We also get to enjoy physical activities during picnics. Keeping in mind, the overall development of the children, D.P.S. Bathinda organized a one-day excursion to Jyani Natural Farm, Abohar. Students learned there about organic farming and got to know about different types of plants and bird species. They visited the mini zoo and did Bullock cart riding, horse riding, swimming, and many more fun-filled physical activities. After this, they enjoyed farm-made delicious cuisines and juices. Before boarding to buses, group photos had been clicked. It was a good learning experience for students as well as for teachers.
LABOUR DAY – CLASSES LKG-III
To celebrate the painstaking effort of the labour force, that works tirelessly, Labour Day was celebrated at Delhi Public School, Bathinda with great zeal. We have always believed that it is the small act of kindness that count and we attempt to inculcate that same virtue in our children.
The students of classes LKG-III celebrated Labour Day by doing fun-filled role-play activities. They expressed their gratitude by dressing themselves as one of community helpers.
The activity was designed to forge a better understanding of the labour community among our students who must learn to respect and appreciate their efforts. Overall it was a fruitful day which taught our little ones to be thankful to everyone.
SHOW & TELL ACTIVITY – CLASSES LKG/UKG
Learning to speak in front of others at an early age helps in building confidence in a child as they grow. To develop communication skills in our little ones, DPS Bathinda (Main wing) organized a Show and Tell Activity on April 26, 2022, for LKG and UKG students. Speaking activities motivate and prepare children to meet future challenges. The DPS munchkins spoke about their favorite things. At DPS Bathinda, teaching life skills is an important component of the curriculum. communication is the most empowering of all life skills.
CUP POSTER/MODEL MAKING COMPETITION
Students of Class XII did us proud by clinching the third position in Model and Poster making competition organized by the Central University of Punjab.
This competition was organized by the Department of Geology to commemorate Earth Day. Many schools and colleges from in and around Bathinda participated in the competition.

WORLD MALARIA DAY : POSTER MAKING
To raise awareness about dreaded diseases of Malaria and Dengue, DPS in collaboration with District Civil Hospital organized a Poster Making Contest for students of Classes VI-XII.
Three students namely Saily Das, Tanishka and Prerna Saha received the prizes for the informative posters. They were felicitated by S. Jagroop Singh Gill, Member of Legislative Assembly Bathinda.
The Principal Mr. Jatiinder Kumar Saini also congratulated the winners.
INTER HOUSE JUST A MINUTE COMPETITION – CLASSES VI-VIII
DPS Bathinda organized an Inter House Just a minute competition on April 18 ,2022 for classes VI -VIII. This activity gave the opportunity to the students to be confident and creative on stage. This event also encouraged the students to be fluent and accurate in their speech and arguments.

INTER HOUSE DEBATE COMPETITION – CLASSES IX-XII
An inter-house Debate Competition for Classes IX-XII was held on 18th April 2022. The aim of the competition was to hone the public speaking skills of the students and teach them to be articulate while expressing their thoughts and opinions. The speakers of all the houses spoke very well on the topic ‘Use of Mobile phones should be banned in the school premises’.
The highlight of the event was the question-answer round, as the questions were answered confidently by both sides, inviting counter questions which were aptly answered by witty and vivacious speakers. In this competition Ganga house got the 1st position, Sutlej house got the 2nd position, and the 3rd position was held by Ravi house.
The session was a kaleidoscope of opinions, thoughts, ideas, and perspectives that definitely enhanced the knowledge and understanding of the topic among the students.
BAISAKHI (MAIN BRANCH)
Delhi Public School, Bathinda (Main Branch) organized an activity for the tiny tots to celebrate Baisakhi on April 12,2022. The purpose of the celebration was joyful learning and to acquaint the little ones with their cultural heritage. The kindergarten children dressed up in colorful Punjabi traditional attires. Dhol beats, Punjabi folk music, dances and poems added to the atmosphere of the celebration.
Festivals are not just a great time to celebrate and enjoy, but also an opportunity to acquaint our children with our diverse culture. Delhi Public School Bathinda conducted a special assembly to celebrate the joyous festival of Baisakhi – the harvest festival of Punjab. Assembly started with Mool Mantra, followed by a speech, the students paid tribute to the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh and also gave message of peace, harmony and courage. The assembly ended with a foot-tapping Bhangra performance by students. Principal, Mr. J.K. Saini congratulated the students for putting up a good show.
BAISAKHI (CITY BRANCH) – CLASSES LKG/UKG
The harvest festival Baisakhi marks the onset of the spring season and is celebrated with great joy and fervor in India. It also commemorates the formation of Khalsa Panth in 1699. The tiny tots of DPS Bathinda, junior wing (city branch) also celebrated the festival with lots of enthusiasm. They were dressed up in Punjabi attire. Teachers arranged and displayed lots of things like charkha, chajj, pakhi, dholak, phulkari, etc. to acquaint the children with great Punjabi culture. Children were amazed and mesmerized to see these things in front of them. They also enjoyed dancing on Bhangra beats and also wished each other a Happy Baisakhi.
BACK TO SCHOOL
Back to School……Back to Fun!
A wave of excitement could be felt in the air throughout the school premises. Happy reunion of the students was seen in all the classrooms. The day promised new hopes and new goals for everyone. Thanks to the Almighty for showing us this day again

Delhi Public School wishes you a very HAPPY NEW SESSION 2022-23 and promise you yet another bouquet of celebrations and memorable moments all through the year. The NEW SESSION brings with its new dreams and resolutions. A new set of social and moral skills will be learnt and our main focus will be to instill them in our students that have been entrusted in our care. Our mission is to prepare young people to pursue their aspirations and contribute to the world productively.
ORIENTATION CEREMONY (CITY BRANCH)
An orientation program was organized by Delhi Public School, Junior Wing (City Branch) for the new parents on March 19, 2022. As the new parents are apprehensive about the new environment, the purpose of the program was to orient the parents about the school and the entire system. It also helped to bring a comfort level and also to give a deeper understanding into the working of the school.
The program started with the lighting of lamp. Little DPSites of the LKG class gave mesmerizing performances through a presentation, play, and a story enactment. A puppet show by the teachers left all enthralled as they watched their favorite characters come alive teaching phonics.
The city branch coordinator Ms. Jaspreet Kaur welcomed the parents, acquainted them with the school and various activities. She also told about teachers’ endeavors to stay connected with the children digitally in the pandemic period. The Principal Mr. Jatinder Kumar Saini had an interactive session with the parents highlighting the significance of early childhood years and stories. He talked about parents’ –teachers’ bond and also shared some tips on good parenting.
The program concluded with the parents meeting their child’s HRT and clearing doubts and queries. It was a wonderful program that helped the parents to develop a positive approach towards the school. They enjoyed the program and their contentment was visible on their faces to have chosen the right place for their child to bloom.
ORIENTATION CEREMONY (MAIN BRANCH)
Delhi Public School, Bathinda organized its Orientation Programme on 23 March 2022 for the newly admitted students and their parents. The purpose of this programme was to orient the students and parents about the school, its curriculum and the routines that the school follows. Another reason for organizing this programme, as an annual feature, is to understand the expectation of the parents and constantly strive to meet the needs of the parents in these constantly changing times.
The Principal, Mr Jatinder Kumar Saini welcomed the parents and assured them that all their expectations will be fulfilled to the best of ability. The choir regaled the parents with a melodious medley of songs and various presentations on school infrastructure, examination system and all the educational initiatives that the school undertakes were shared with the parents. The programme was well appreciated by the parents. They felt they are now better equipped to be equal partners in the education of their ward.
